What kind of usb cable do you need to connect a calc to a USB stick?

I think:
Mini male A (small, calcside)=> Female B (big, stick plugged in here)

Is that right?

Do you get a crash then? Or worse...

i already noticed a mini B doesn't work, but why?
also, is it possible to use the mini-usb a mini-usb b cable (calc-calc) and use a female mini-usb b connector and solder this one to a femal usb connctor? at the calc side you would have the needed mini-usb a connetor...
